Getting started
Who can use Binder Bounty?
Anyone aged 18 or over. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up, and close accounts that belong to anyone younger.
Is it free?
Yes. Listing cards, matches, card search, messaging, price estimates and the store map are all free. Premium is an optional subscription that removes the list limits and adds named lists.
Which games does it support?
Magic: The Gathering. Stores can say they sell other games, like Pokémon or One Piece, on their store page.
How do I add my collection?
Add cards one at a time, or open your trade list or want list and tap Import a list. You can import a CSV from Moxfield, ManaBox, Deckbox, Archidekt, TCGplayer or a spreadsheet, or paste a list exported from Moxfield, Arena or MTGO. Any rows we can't match to a card are shown to you, so nothing goes missing.
Matches and trading
How does matching work?
We compare your want list with the trade lists of players within your search radius, and the other way round. Players who have something you want and want something you have are shown first.
Why can't I see someone I know is nearby?
Check that their town is within your search radius (you can change it in Settings), and that the card is on their trade list and your want list.
Why can't I just message other players?
Every chat starts with a message request about specific cards. The other player can accept or decline it. This keeps unwanted messages out of everyone's inbox.
Does Binder Bounty handle payments or postage?
No. You arrange the trade with the other player and meet in person. We suggest meeting at a local game store: the store map shows the ones near you.
Where do the prices come from?
Price estimates come from Scryfall, update daily and are converted to your currency. They're a guide to help you agree a fair trade, not an offer to buy or sell. Prices on a store's stock are set by the store.
Privacy and safety
Who can see where I live?
Nobody. You pick your town, or let the app find the nearest town to you once. Other players only see your town and how far away it is. We never store your exact location.
How do I block or report someone?
Open their profile or your chat with them, tap the menu, and choose Block or Report. You can unblock people in Settings, under Blocked players.
How do I delete a chat?
Press and hold the chat in your inbox, select any others you want to delete, then tap Delete. The chat is deleted for you only.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Settings and tap Delete account. See deleting your account for what's deleted, and how to ask us to delete it if you no longer have the app.
Account and subscriptions
I forgot my password
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? and we'll email you a link to set a new one.
How do I cancel Premium or Store Pro?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google. Cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings, or from the subscription screen in the app. You keep the paid features until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription.
I bought a subscription but don't have the features
Open the Premium or Store Pro screen in the app and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the same App Store or Google Play account you paid with. If that doesn't work, email us.
What happens if my Premium ends?
Nothing is hidden or deleted. Your cards still count for matching. You can't add more until you're back under the free limits, and named lists become view and remove only.
For game stores
How do I add my store?
Download the app, choose A game store when you sign up, then set up your store profile. We check every store before it appears on the map.
What's the difference between Store Basic and Store Pro?
Store Basic, free while we launch, puts your store on the map with your opening hours, the games you sell and your regular events. Store Pro adds stock listings with your own prices, shown to nearby players who search for or want those cards, and announcements.
Does Binder Bounty take a cut of my sales?
No. Players buy in your store. The app doesn't take payments or process sales.
